Mobile Internet: an Empirical Study of the Evolution of the Supply of B2c Mobile Internet Applications in Italy

This paper shows the evolution of the supply of Mobile Internet applications in Italy utilizing two empirical studies performed at different times (the first one on March 2001 and the second on March 2002). The issues investigated in each empirical study were the following: the number of B2c Wap sites in Italy; the types of application provided by the significant public B2c sites; the usability and specific value of application provided by these applications; the user costs of Wap applications. The results point out that the development of B2c MI in Italy is currently stalled, with the exception of movements determined by the mobile telephony carriers.
